Our nutritionists

Who you speak with on NutriBali

Credentials matter in nutrition, because the titles used in Indonesia follow real regulatory tracks and not all of them mean the same thing. Here is who our consultants are, what ahli gizi, dietisien and SpGK indicate, and how we match you to one of them.

Two titles, two tracks

The nutritionist role in Indonesia

Nutritionists form part of Indonesia's regulated nutrition workforce, and the role is linked to formal nutrition education pathways. It is distinct from the dietitian track in local regulation, which is why you will see both titles on service pages and practitioner listings.

Knowing which track a consultant comes from tells you something about their training and the scope they work within. It also tells you what kind of question to bring them. If your situation sits with a doctor rather than a nutrition consultant, that is worth knowing before you register, not after.

Title reference

What each title actually tells you

Ahli gizi — nutritionist

Education track

Day-to-day meals, portions, food choices and habits for healthy people.

Dietisien — dietitian

Clinical track

Commonly works with clinical nutrition questions alongside everyday planning.

SpGK — specialist credential

Specialist track

Relevant when your situation calls for more structured nutrition support.

These are not ranks. A consultant's title tells you where they trained and which scope they work inside; the question you bring decides which of the three is the right fit. We do not present SpGK as the default answer.

Matching

How matching works

Matching starts from your pre-assessment, not from a rotating roster. Topic, life stage and format all feed into the decision. If your question belongs with a doctor instead, we say so before you book rather than after.

See how matching works

Before booking

A short pre-assessment covers your topic, who the guidance is for, and what you already eat on a normal day.

Assigning

A question about feeding a toddler goes to a consultant who works with children. A clinical nutrition question goes to a dietitian or specialist.

Requests

You can name a consultant you would like to see. Availability and the fit of your topic both matter, and we explain the outcome before booking.

Scope

What you can ask a consultant

Consultants answer questions about meals, portions, timing, food choices and habits. They read your pre-assessment, explain their reasoning out loud, and hand you something written you can actually cook from.

They do not diagnose, adjust medication, or sell products. If a consultant cannot help with something, they will refer you back to your doctor or to the right colleague.

Working alongside care

Working with your doctor, not instead of one

If you have a medical condition, your consultant works alongside your doctor's care rather than replacing it. Nutrition guidance in that setting is about meals and daily structure within the plan your doctor has set.

Consultants flag anything that sounds like it needs medical review, and they do not comment on medication. That division of labour keeps the advice reliable for both sides.

What we will not claim

We will not tell you a consultant can fix a condition, and we will not describe nutrition guidance as a cure. We will not promise a result from any plan, because eating habits depend on your circumstances and your follow-through.

What we can describe honestly is training, scope, and process.

Documentation standards

What happens behind the scenes

Consultations here follow a structured workflow, using the same professional documentation concepts found in Indonesian nutrition practice. You will see this as a pre-assessment before your session and a follow-up afterwards. Behind the scenes it means your consultant is not improvising, and a colleague could pick up your file if needed.

First step

Assessment

Your pre-assessment records the question, the context and the food you actually eat week to week.

During the session

Planning and intervention

Your consultant explains the reasoning behind each change and writes the plan down for you.

Afterwards

Monitoring

A follow-up checks how the plan is holding up in a normal week.

Reading a profile

What each consultant profile shows

Every profile lists the consultant's credential, the topics they handle, and the formats they offer, such as chat konsultasi, voice, or video. Where a consultant works with a specific life stage, that is noted too.

We do not publish invented awards or client counts. If a detail is not on a profile, ask us and we will tell you what we can.

Language and location

Consultations in Indonesian and English

Sessions are online, so your consultant does not need to be in the same city. Our team is based at Jl. Imam Bonjol No. 201, Denpasar, Bali, and clients join from across Indonesia and from abroad.

If you prefer a consultant familiar with a particular regional food context, mention it during registration and we will weigh it alongside the fit of your topic.

Common questions

Before you register

A few things visitors ask most often about the consultants on the other side of the screen.

Is ahli gizi the same as a dietitian?

No. In Indonesia the nutritionist and dietitian roles follow separate regulatory tracks, and both can give nutrition guidance within their scope. Which one you need depends on your question, and we match accordingly.

Can I request a specific consultant?

You can say so at registration. We will try to accommodate it, though availability and the fit of your topic both matter. If another consultant is a better match, we will explain why before booking.

What should I prepare before a session?

Fill in the pre-assessment honestly, keep a rough note of what you eat on a normal day, and bring the question you actually want answered. If you are following a plan your doctor set, say so at the start.

Do I need a specialist every time?

No. Many questions are well served by a nutritionist or dietitian working on everyday meals and habits. A specialist becomes relevant when your situation calls for more structured nutrition support, and we do not present that title as the default.

Next step

Ready to register for a consultation?

Registration opens your pre-assessment, which is what we use to choose the right consultant for your question. If you would rather ask something first, the team answers during working hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
